1924–49 Establishment as a National Organization

1924
Thomas McCracken is elected National President and continues in that office for 24 years.
The Laureate Chapter is established with John Dewey as its first member.

1925
The National Office is established in Tiffin, Ohio, with E. I. F. Williams as Secretary-Treasurer.

1928
The KDP Lecture Series is established.

1936
The first issue of The Educational Forum is published with Alfred L. Hall-Quest as Editor.

1942
E. I. F. Williams is named Editor of all Kappa Delta Pi publications.
The Executive Council is established to include the offices of President, two Vice Presidents, Advisory Counselor, and Laureate Counselor.

1924 John Dewey, the Society's first Laureate.


1929 Initiates from Mexico with Willis E. Johnson (second from right)
of the Alpha Sigma Chapter, San Diego State University.
