Dr. Michael Fullan is an international leader on educational change and reform. He has developed a number of partnerships designed to effect major school improvements and is engaged in training, consulting, and evaluation of change projects around the world. He currently is Global Leadership Director of New Pedagogies for Deep Learning, an initiative that works with schools to build knowledge and practices that develop deep learning and foster whole-system change.

A native of Toronto, Fullan was formerly Dean of the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto, where he began his career as a lecturer and then professor. He was named Dean of the Faculty of Education in 1988, a position he held for 8 years. He has long advised policymakers and local leaders to provide leadership in education.

Fullan holds honorary doctorates from several universities in North America and abroad and has won prestigious awards for his books, including Book of the Year several times by both Learning Forward and the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education. Along with his many honors and awards, Fullan has served on numerous advisory boards and panels and PhD committees. In 2012, he was named an Officer of the Order of Canada for his “achievements in the field of education reform, as a scholar, teacher, writer, and adviser to governments in Canada and abroad” (Government of Canada, 2012).
