Undergraduate Students

be enrolled in an institution offering an education degree and have the intent to continue academically and professionally in the field of education;

demonstrate leadership attributes;

have completed at least 30 credit hours of collegiate course work;

have at least 12 credit hours in education course work programmed, in progress, or completed;

demonstrate a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or greater; and

receive an invitation to membership from the chapter at the college where you are currently enrolled.

A chapter may have higher eligibility standards, but those standards must be in accordance with the international KDP Society Bylaws.

Search for a chapter to see whether there is one at your institution or to determine your eligibility. If you are an undergraduate student, you must join through the local chapter if there is one on your campus. If not, you may join through the international organization. Graduate Students

have graduate standing in an institution offering an education degree and have the intent to continue academically and professionally in the field of education;

demonstrate leadership attributes;

have completed at least 6 credit hours of graduate course work;

have at least 12 credit hours in education course work programmed, in progress, or completed; and

demonstrate a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher for all graduate coursework completed.

A chapter may have higher eligibility standards, but those standards must be in accordance with the international KDP Society Bylaws.

Graduate students may join through a local institutional chapter, a professional chapter, or directly through the international organization. Search for a chapter to see whether there is one at your institution or to determine your eligibility.

Doctoral Students

be enrolled in an institution offering an education degree and have the intent to continue academically and professionally in the field of education;

demonstrate leadership attributes; and

Practicing Educators (K–12 Teachers) and Education Professionals

show evidence that you obtained a degree in education and met the appropriate cumulative GPA requirement or submit a letter of recommendation for membership in KDP from a supervisory administrator or show evidence of being Nationally Board Certified or a nationally award-winning teacher;

demonstrate leadership attributes; and

have the intent to continue academically or professionally in the field of education.

Administrators

demonstrate leadership attributes;

have the intent to continue academically or professionally in the field of education; and

demonstrate leadership attributes;

have the intent to continue academically or professionally in the field of education; and

Retirees

be aged 55 or older; and
