Jerry Mills, internationally acclaimed educator, singer/songwriter, and motivational trainer, set the tone for Destination Inspiration with his motivating and meaningful insights into reaching today’s youth. Barbara Morgan Barbara Morgan: Risks and Rewards: Teaching the Future

Distinguished Educator in Residence at Boise State’s Colleges of Engineering and Education Barbara Morgan leads the university in its policy development, advocacy and fund-raising in STEM-related programs. Prior to this mission, Ms. Morgan was NASA’s first Educator Astronaut, who fulfilled a long-time dream in August 2007 when she flew aboard the space shuttle, Endeavor.

On Friday afternoon, renowned educators who have been inducted into KDP’s Laureate Chapter individually shared their views on “Research in the Real World.”
Dr. Alan H. Schoenfeld
Dr. Alan H. Schoenfeld,
Elizabeth and Edward Conner Chair of Education, Graduate School of Education, University of California at Berkeley

His research deals with thinking, teaching, and learning, with an emphasis on mathematics, and his interest s include assessment and educational measurement and cognitive development.


Dr. William Ayers

Dr. William Ayers, Distinguished Professor of Education, University of Illinois at Chicago

His interests include teaching for social justice, urban educational reform, narrative and interpretive research, children in trouble with the law, and related issues.


Dr. David C. Berliner

Dr. David C. Berliner, Regents’ Professor of Education at Arizona State University

Dr. Berliner’s interests include classroom teaching and learning, teacher education, and educational policy.


Dr. Nel Noddings Dr. Nel Noddings, Lee L. Jacks Professor of Child Education, Stanford University

Dr. Noddings’ interests include ethical decision-making, the ethics of care, mathematical problem-solving, global awareness, and school reform.

Her interests include democracy and education, imagination and creativity in educational programs, the person as decision maker and knower, values and the curriculum, cross-national education, and curriculum leadership.

Dr. O. L. Davis

Dr. O. L. Davis, Jr., Professor of Curriculum and Instruction, University of Texas at Austin, and Former President of Kappa Delta Pi

His interests include curriculum theory, development, and history, social studies education, and teacher education. He has done research on topics such as contemporary U.S. curriculum policy and the school curricula in the United States and the United Kingdom during World War II.
