Resources for Professional Educators

Novice Notes

Today’s educators are looking for resources at their fingertips, ways to differentiate instruction or interpret data, paths to grow their networks and collaborate around the world, professional development that meets their particular needs, and opportunities to publish and present.

You can trust resources from Kappa Delta Pi. You can also depend on other members to share and collaborate with you.
Worldwide Collaboration and Learning
KDP has webinars on a wide variety of topics presented by experts from around the globe. Webinars can be attended live, or the recording can be downloaded to watch later. Certificates of Attendance are available either way.

KDP Global, our online community, connects you to a worldwide community of educators. Members can post a question, give advice, collaborate, discuss a topic, download resources, and more.
KDP publishes books to help you. The Power of Teacher Leaders: Their Roles, Influence, and Impact, edited by Nathan Bond, provides a comprehensive resource for understanding the ways that teacher leaders foster positive change in their schools. Topics covered include how teachers become leaders, their wide-ranging leadership roles, and the effects of teacher leadership on student academic success and school communities.

Information You Can Use
Receive the doubly-masked, peer-reviewed KDP Record quarterly for research-based articles on action research, student-centered learning, assessment, differentiated instruction, literacy, and a variety of compelling issues relevant to national and international education professionals who work and teach at all levels and in a wide range of disciplines and settings.
The Educational Forum is a doubly masked, peer-reviewed journal published quarterly to provide thought-provoking, challenging essays, research reports, and featured works designed to stimulate dialogue in education on a worldwide scale.
Educator Resources with tools and tips for professional educators is delivered to your inbox monthly. It contains news you can use, links to help you, and links to upcoming webinars and events.

International Opportunities to Publish or Present
Kappa Delta Pi publications reach educators at all levels of their careers—from preservice to classroom teachers, principals, faculty, administrators, and researchers. Share your experience, research, or insights with educators around the globe.
The International Research Conference brings together educational researchers, education experts, teachers, educational administrators, education assistants, undergraduate students, and graduate students from around the world who have theoretical and practical knowledge of the education of children and adults.
Convocations are opportunities to present a workshop or roundtable and network with or learn from colleagues from around the world.

Regional Networking Opportunities and Professional Development
Regional iLead Workshops (full-day interactive institutes) help participants apply their knowledge and experience to become teacher leaders and make a difference in the lives of their students, their school building, and the education profession overall.
ELL one-day workshops are designed to help teachers become more effective in their work with English language learners.
Culturally Responsive Teaching and Leading one-day conferences focus on multicultural topics including culturally responsive pedagogy, the role of privilege and bias, sexism and gender discrimination, and sexual minorities. Deepen your understanding of multicultural concepts and strategies, and learn to apply them in teaching.

Scholarships for Continuing Education and Classroom Grants
Scholarships are available for multiple levels of study including undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and practicing educators. Applications are accepted each spring.
A teacher’s effectiveness has the greatest impact on students’ achievement and learning. Classroom teacher grants provide members who are practicing teachers with funds to support specific programs or classroom supplies.
