Program: Officer Transition Retreat

Materials needed:
Newly elected officers
Hotel rooms
Agenda

How to:
1. Elect officers in late March/early April.
2. Set a transition date for late April before graduation.
3. Secure rooms at a local hotel with a pool and/or recreation center.
4. Provide an agenda to all attendees (incoming and outgoing officers).
5. Conduct the transition (goal-setting, chapter business, individual meetings, etc).
6. Socialize with one another in the pool or recreation center.
7. Sample Agenda:
  a. Introduction of Officers
  b. Officers’ annual reports
  c. Programming
  d. Initiation
  e. Finances
  f. Goals for the outgoing and incoming years
  g. Other business
  h. Thanks to outgoing officers
  i. Individual meetings
  j. Duties
  k. Goals
  l. Adjournment

Add a Twist:
Conduct the meeting in the summer at a counselor or officer’s home with a pool.
Meet at a local amusement area near campus.
Conduct the meeting at a great restaurant.
Have officers create officer notebooks.
