Rooms in the School of Education during Halloween week
Materials for activity rooms

How To:
1. Begin by creating a committee or using the Program Committee.
2. During a planning meeting, identify who will reserve rooms in the School of Education. Also identify which activities you would like to conduct.
3. Choose a date depending upon School of Education room availability.
4. Assign each activity to a separate room.
5. Identify a member of the committee to publicize the event in local elementary schools.
6. Create flyers/letters for the local elementary schools and for the School of Education hallways.
7. Each room should have a person assigned to monitor the activity.
8. Possible activities for each room:
  A. Haunted house
  B. Games
  C. Movies
  D. Arts and crafts
9. Create a cleanup committee.
10. Conduct the event (open-house format).

Add a Twist:
Create a passport on which the children receive a stamp for each room they attend.
Add rooms as volunteers are available.
Set up a parents’ room.
Hand out goodie bags as the children leave. Include a book for them to take home.
Have prizes for the game room.
Visit local businesses for sponsorship.
Create/use enhancement activities on/from the Web. Possibly even deliver these to the schools ahead of time.
Encourage volunteers for the actual event to dress in costumes.
