Hello and welcome to a new year! We at KDP Headquarters hope that you are well-rested after the summer and ready to tackle a new semester. As you are considering your goals and vision for your chapter over the 2016–2017 academic year, check out our revamped Chapter Planning Tool to help guide your leadership team as you move forward. I am always happy to help you and your leadership team work toward any goals you may have this year.
Need a great way to connect with your alumni and graduate members?
Let them know that KDP is giving away 50 grants worth $150 each. All members who are practicing teachers can use funds to support specific programs or purchase classroom supplies. Hurry, the October 31 deadline is fast approaching! For more information click here. Not sure who your alumni and graduate members are? Download a chapter roster for the most complete information on your members.
How much is your KDP membership worth?
Did you know active KDP members have free access to everything in the KDP Resources catalog, including hundreds of webinars? Non-members pay $35 per webinar download. That means your membership saves you at least $5,880 in professional development webinar fees! Start cashing in now:
Did you make our list?
Every year, Kappa Delta Pi Headquarters requests a financial report from each chapter as is required by the Internal Revenue Service. Although the deadline for this Annual Financial Report was August 1, you still have time to submit and keep your chapter up to date. Thank you to these chapters for filling out their 2015–2016 Annual Financial Report!
Host a Regional Workshop
You are invited to host a KDP Regional Workshop this upcoming school year. Choose from three different curricula—iLead, English Language Learners, and Culturally Responsive Teaching and Leading. We will give you all the tools you need to make your event a success! Learn more about the curricula, process, and commitment by clicking here.
Chapter Highlight – Delta Rho, Kean College, NJ
During the 2015–2016 academic year, the Delta Rho Chapter from Kean College in New Jersey went from a chapter that had a declining membership, struggling leadership, and few activities to a thriving chapter with engaged members, 11 new officers, and multiple events. The chapter doubled in size through new recruitment methods and by increasing the chapter’s presence on campus, launching a PIIP program to reward members for participating in these new events, ranging from a Literacy Alive! Silver Award-winning project to professional development on Universal Design for Learning and Tools for Reaching Education Excellence. The chapter is already gearing up for the local Walk Now for Autism Speaks! event in October.

Because of this hard work and growth, the Delta Rho Chapter won a 2015–2016 Phoenix Award for Chapter Excellence! Congratulations!
